January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and it is time to take action! A regular screening and vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) – the main cause of cervical cancer – can help protect you against cervical cancer. What can we do:

• Staying Informed: Discovering facts about cervical cancer and the human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes it, as well as helping to educate other women.
• Getting Screened: Cervical cancer screening usually begins at age 30 and is conducted periodically.
• Getting Vaccinated: The HPV vaccine is administered in two doses, starting when a girl is between 9 and 14 years old.

Early detection is crucial for treatment and prevention, so make sure you are getting regular Pap smears and staying informed.
