How Does Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Improve our Health and Beauty?

Menopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive cycle. It also brings with it an array of other bodily changes— from weight gain to hot flashes, night sweats and mood fluctuation with your skin becoming thinner with less collagen, decreased elasticity, increased wrinkling, increased dryness and reduced vascularity as estrogen insufficiency decreases defense against oxidative stress.

Being a part of Hortman Clinics, Medi-Gyn Center offers a tailored, ‘the whole body’ approach to hormonal health and ageing. Our programmes integrate the latest evidence-based conventional medicine with a cutting-edge, patient-centred functional, preventive and regenerative medicine approach. By focusing on the root cause of each condition, we ensure that our patients receive targeted and effective treatment solutions.

Our methodology is built on the 4 Ps: Preventive, Precision, Personalised, and Partnership care.

At Medi-Gyn we assist women with their menopause symptoms while brining their hormone levels up and giving women a quality of life that they deserve in the second half of their lives. So, let’s learn more about how hormone therapy influences your health and beauty right and when it really starts …

What Happens During Menopause?

Any stage of Menopause – premenopause and perimenopause – is characterised by hormonal changes, the changes that you may not notice immediately but inventually, and in some cases an accumulation of these chnages may lead to quite symptoms …but let’s do one step at a time.

Any hormonal change happening in the body is associated with the individual’s physical, mental, emotional and epigenetic changes in their body. These change in hormone levels starts not when your menopause begins but way before that – 10 years before, to be precise it starts during your PERImenopause with a fall of your reproductive hormones Estrogen and Progesterone, affecting the female’s health and appearance.

Estrogens – Estradiol, Estriol, Estrone – are well-known for their positive anti-inflammatory impact on the outer physiology of our skin and inner biochemistry of our cells. Although hormones never work in separation, Estrogen is THE hormone that delay ageing at the molecular and physical levels. At the same time, dip in Estrogen levels accelerates skin ageing, resulting in:

  • Thinner skin
  • Increase in the number and depth of wrinkles
  • Increased skin dryness
  • Decrease in skin firmness and elasticity

It also affects our health and increases the risk of:

  • Heart diseases
  • Insulin resistance and diabetes
  • Excess belly fat
  • High blood pressure
  • High blood lipid levels
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Increased stress levels

Having said that, there is nothing to worry about! At Medi-Gyn, our Team of Experts helps you navigate this challenging time, embracing healthy ageing inside out.
