A pregnancy ultrasound is a test that uses high-frequency sound waves to image the developing baby as well as the mother’s reproductive organs. The average number of ultrasounds varies with each pregnancy.
Transvaginal ultrasound is a test used to look at a woman’s uterus, ovaries, tubes, cervix and pelvic area. Transvaginal means across or through the vagina.
This is also called sonohysterogram, saline ultrasound, saline infusion sonohysterogram, SIS, or SHG) is an important fertility test performed during the diagnostic process to help ensure there are no physical barriers to successful conception. Sonohysterography, also called a saline infusion sonogram (SIS) or sonohysterogram, is a procedure to look at the inside of the uterus. It’s a safe test that uses sound waves and a computer to create images. It does not use radiation. This test is performed between days 5 to 9 of your menstrual cycle.

An endometrial biopsy is a procedure where your healthcare provider removes a small piece of tissue from the lining of your uterus (the endometrium) to examine it for cancer or other irregularities.

Colposcopy is a simple outpatient clinic procedure to examine the cervix. During colposcopy, the cervix is visualized using a speculum and is examined under magnification and bright light to look for signs of any abnormality. Two dyes are applied to the cervix (acetic acid and iodine) which highlight the abnormality if present. A colposcopy is for women who have had an abnormal Pap smear result and need further examination or have symptoms such as bleeding after sex, irregular bleeding or contact bleeding.
During this procedure it may be advised to remove cells for histological analysis of the abnormal report of pap smear. The cervix biopsy is done to identify any abnormal cells on the cervix.
HPV test can be added at time of cervix biopsy at additional cost to identify high risk cases.
