Valentine’s Day Special – A Gift of Self-Care & Love

Did you that your body is made up of proteins that are, of course, greatly important for your skin but also for the health of all different organs?

With age, these proteins get depleted and, as such, affect your ageing process and hormonal balance, often resulting in all sorts of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.

So this Valentine’s Day, offer yourself and your loved one a gift of self-care & love:

2 in 1 Reverse Ageing Peptide Consultations
& Brain Gym for 2*

*valid until 28th Feb 2025 inclusive

So, how does peptide therapy reverse ageing-related to a brain fog?

Ageing brings with it a host of concerns- from skin-related issues to weight gain and even mental health challenges. Well, at Medi-Gyn, we’ve got you covered! In this blog, we help you understand the importance of proteins in the body and how peptide therapy can help reverse ageing-related changes, such as brain fog! Let’s dive in!

The ageing brain and its challenges

The brain is the master organ in the body and also controls several aspects of thinking, such as cognitive abilities, memory, planning, decision-making, and more. However, as you age, the brain undergoes changes that may slow down several aspects of mental health. This is why many older adults find it difficult to recall or remember names, multitask, or experience difficulty concentrating or focusing.

These signs develop due to a few changes in the brain:

  • Some parts of the brain, especially those related to learning, shrink
  • In some regions of the brain, the communication between nerve cells (neurons) becomes less effective
  • The blood flow to the brain begins to slow down

Hormonal changes and the ageing brain

In addition to these age-related changes, women also undergo hormonal fluctuations as they reach perimenopause and menopause. A decline in the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone can cause an imbalance in the neurotransmitters, reduced neuroplasticity and increased inflammation in the brain, which give rise to symptoms like

  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety
  • Brain fog
  • Cognitive decline

How does Peptide Therapy support brain function?

Peptides are short-chain amino acids (usually 2 to 50 amino acids) that play a fundamental role in many physiological processes. They act as messengers in the body, regulating other biological processes. They also act as signalling molecules, instructing cells on how to function, repair, and adapt.

When it comes to brain health peptides are key as they support cognitive function, neuroplasticity, neurotransmitter balance and reduce inflammation. As we age and hormonal imbalances occur they impact cognitive performance. But peptide therapy is a way to keep mental sharpness and overall neurological well being.

Some well-known cognitive-enhancing peptides include:

  • Semax – Boosts focus, memory, and neuroprotection
  • Cerebrolysin – Aids in neuroregeneration and cognitive repair
  • Dihexa – Promotes new neural connections and cognitive function

And how can “brain gym’ assist in all of the above? In short, you can train your brain for longevity

Brain Gym is a set of targeted mental and physical exercises designed to improve cognitive function, focus, and neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to form and strengthen neural connections).

Like physical exercise keeps your body fit and agile, brain gym exercises help keep the mind sharp by stimulating and engaging various neuronal pathways. A few techniques include cross-lateral movements, visualisation exercises, and mindfulness practices. These exercises help the brain form new connections and improve hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and memory retention.

When combined with peptide therapy, these exercises support neurotransmitter balance, reduce brain inflammation and promote cellular repair. This combo also creates new neural connections and boosts the brain’s learning capacity and overall cognitive resilience, making it a good way to combat age-related cognitive decline.

Ready to reclaim your mental clarity

Combining peptide therapy with brain gym can create a powerful synergy, helping women regain their sharp memory and cognitive sharpness and combat the effects of ageing. Paired with healthy lifestyle habits like a nutrition diet, getting adequate sleep, and effective stress management, you can keep your brain resilient for years to come.

Mr. Homajun Nobacht

Pharmacist and BHRT Specialist

Born in Tehran in 1962, Homajun Nobacht competed his Pharmacy studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt in 1995.

Homajun has dedicated his life to the development of and working with bioidentical hormones with a total experience being over 25 years. He leads a Team of Pharmasists who offer personalised formulations for patients in the context of bioidentical hormone therapy and anti-ageing.

The base product for bioidentical hormones produced by the pharmacy is obtained  from a yam root, the ingredients of which are the so-called diosgenins and these have a structure that is similar to our sex hormones. The diosgenins are then semi-enzymatically converted to progesterone, pregnenolone, DHEA, testosterone and estradiol using Marker methods.

We use these hormones in micronized form, which is very important for the bioidentical hormones to work. The micronization and dispersion in olive oil ensures that the hormones bypass the first pass effect without damaging the liver in the long-term.
